BEYOND: ARTIST COMMISSIONS

Launched in 2017. Each year, Abu Dhabi Art invites established and well-known artists to create site-specific works in historic sites in Al Ain and the wider Abu Dhabi emirate, to activate these sites and draw new audiences to them. The works created by the commissioned artists are revealed during Abu Dhabi Art and remain on show to the public for several months afterward.

Competitions

DIGITAL COMPETITION

Abu Dhabi Art invites all university students to participate in a special competition to enhance the viewers experience. The winner receives a prize of 5,000 AED and the opportunity to work side-by-side with DCT’s Digital Team to improve the 2021 edition. Proposal Deadline: 25 February 2021

ARTIST OF THE WEEK

An online initiative working with galleries that regularly participate in Abu Dhabi Art fair to highlight works by a series of emerging and established artists each week. All works presented on this platform are under USD 5,000.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME

Abu Dhabi Art offers various programmes for the community for all ages including workshops, tours and competitions. Workshops Hands-on art activities for all ages. Abu Dhabi Art also offers exclusive artist-led masterclasses available for both adults and teens (ages 13+). All art activities and masterclasses, take inspiration from work seen at Abu Dhabi Art. Tours Complimentary 45-minute educational and interactive guided tours of the Abu Dhabi Art fair and exhibitions led by a Visitor Experience Specialist. Available in either Arabic or English. Competitions Abu Dhabi Art runs various competitions for students from product design to graphic design, architectural proposals through to digital innovation.
