An Esteemed Emirati Thought Leader
Mrs. Asma Seddiq Al Mutawa holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the United Arab Emirates University (1987) and a Master’s degree in Contemporary Islam from Zayed University (2013). Her lifelong dedication to cultural, intellectual, and humanitarian engagement has made her a distinguished figure in the UAE and beyond.
In 1995, Mrs. Al Mutawa founded Al Multaqa Literary Salon, a platform committed to enriching intellectual discourse and nurturing cultural dialogue. Through this pioneering initiative, she launched a series of social, humanitarian, and literary programs that continue to inspire community engagement. Under the Al Multaqa name, she was also an official sponsor and active participant in the Women’s Heritage March (2018–2019), further affirming her commitment to preserving and celebrating Emirati heritage.
Since 2008, the Salon has been an active participant in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, contributing to the literary landscape of the region. In collaboration with Dar Al Adab, Mrs. Al Mutawa launched the Asma Siddiq First Novel Award in 2022, encouraging novelists to submit their first novels, with the winning work published.
